Hoy por la mañana BBC Culture publicó una lista a la que denominó las 100 mejores comedias de la historia, una selección que resultó de una consulta universal a la que fueron convocados 253 críticos de cine de 52 países, entre los que se encuentra, por supuesto, México.
En su texto de introducción, BBC Culture deja claras las limitaciones de una convocatoria de este tipo: los lenguajes y las traducciones influyen a veces más en la apreciación de una comedia que el sentido del humor local, si es que una cosa así existe en realidad. Hubo selecciones, por supuesto, más centradas en producciones nacionales o regionales que difícilmente llegaron a la lista definitiva. Sin embargo, también se habla de los alcances y las posibilidades de esta lista: “aunque puede decirse que hombres y mujeres tienen un sentido del humor muy similar, no se puede evitar darse cuenta de que las mujeres se inclinaron más por Clueless y los hombres por Animal House” dice el texto.
Tenemos que subrayar que entre los 53 críticos convocados a formar esta lsta hay varios mexicanos, entre ellos Erick Estrada (director de Cinegarage), Leonardo García Tsao (La Jornada), Daniela Michel (directora del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia), Fernanda Solórzano (Letras Libres), Elena Fortes (Ambulante), Arturo Aguilar (Gatopardo), Aurélie Dupire (Cinema IFAL), Ernesto Diezmartínez (Reforma) y Alejandra Musi (El Universal), todos amigos de Cinegarage, a los que se agregan Adriana Fernández y Mauricio González Lara.
