Se anunciaron finalmente los nominados para la entrega número 28 de los Independent Spirit Awards. Estos premios fueron fundados en 1984 y son presentados por la organización Film Independent, la cual como su nombre lo dice, está dedicada al cine independiente sin fines de lucro. Serán celebrados el 23 de febrero de 2013 en Santa Mónica, California.
Este año Siver Linings Playbook y Moonrise Kingdom son las cintas que dominan la lista, con 5 nominaciones cada una. Luego les siguen Beasts of the Southern Wild, Middle of Nowhere y Keep the Lights On, con cuatro.
